SHIELD ANALYSIS TECHNOLOGY, LLC CEO SELECTED FOR DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS
WOMEN VETERANS ENTREPRENEURS’ PILOT PROGRAM
Shield Is One of Only 28 Participants Selected
(MANASSAS, VA, July 29, 2019) Shield Analysis Technology, LLC is one of only 28 companies selected to participate in a unique Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) program focusing on Women Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses/Women Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOB/VOSB). Dr. Denise N. Baken, President and CEO of Shield, said she is honored to be in this inaugural class of women veteran entrepreneurs.
The four-month initiative, dubbed VetBizLadies, will be conducted in collaboration with other federal agencies and strategic partners. It is the brainchild of Ms. Ruby Harvey, Executive Director of VA’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) and is being headed Ms. Michelle Gardner-Ince, herself a retired Air Force Colonel.
The program looks to expand economic, procurement and learning opportunities to Woman SDVOBs and Women VOSBs and “enable VA to learn from Women VOSB participants about what is needed to improve VA’s Small Business Programs.
Dr. Baken, a retired Colonel with a PhD in Biodefense, said she is excited to learn from the agencies but also from the other women business owners. “We have the chance to build a very special support community, an opportunity not often afforded women veterans. This is phenomenal.”
